The museum of art downtown is a satellite museum of Washington state university, it is located on main street Pullman. The project needed to include a gallery, an event space, a curator’s office, an event kitchen, storage, restrooms, and a studio class room along with an interactive feature. The goal of the museum is to break down the barrier between campus and the rest of the permanent Pullman community.

Concept

The concept word for this project were industrial, elegant, clean and minimal, these words were taken from a bridge in downtown Pullman.

Design application

The space is raw and flexible in the gallery to provide a adequate space for any art pieces that might be displayed. In the lobby space there is also a gathering space with a hidden projector above the ceiling cloud for opening shows and events. The studio in the back allows for not only a studio space but also a classroom for multiple classes to use this space at the same time.
