Concept:

This design is for a community immersive space within a public art gallery in the heart of Florence Italy. The space is designed to immerse visitors in the relaxing powers of nature, give relief from the noise and heat of the city, and space for everyone to enjoy in the relaxing and therapeutic art of coloring.

Design Applications

The purpose of the chalk garden is to be a relaxing space for people to come and sit, wander and color through the maze-like walls of the gardens. Playful hanging glass terrariums providing bursts of color lights to dance across the beautiful flora within the space. The walls that are not occupied by some sort of greenery have patters drawn into them that can be colored in with the chalk provided by the gallery. The space is designed to be a spin-off of the city of Florence, with its wandering streets and tall buildings, the garden has tall walls of greenery and a maze-like floorplan that can lead to endless meandering or finding the perfect cozy nook to sit and detach from the harsh man-made streets and noises from the outside world.
